Now that I’m approaching my 8th anniversary since moving here, I’ve come to learn many good and unique things about Los Angeles and have hopefully convinced my Midwest friends that this place has a very unique character and isn’t all that bad.
After watching the movie ‘Drive’ again, I tried tabulating all of my favorite films not only set in Los Angeles, but also about Los Angeles to where the city becomes its own supporting role.
Its hard to choose in order, but I’ll at least emphasize my favorite one of all in this alphabetical list.
Boogie Nights
Boyz ‘N The Hood
Chinatown
Drive
Grand Canyon
Heat
LA Confidential
LA Story
La Vida Loca
Magnolia
Mulholland Drive
Repo Man
Quinceañera
To Live and Die in LA
Training Day
I could have chosen alot more like The Player, Sunset Blvd, Terminator and even Die Hard, but they either played the cliche of Hollywood/La-La Land too much or they never actually made mention of the fact that they were truly set in the city.
