The fact that ‘Drive’ only got a Sound editing nomination from The Academy Awards is a shame. The cinematography from Newton Thomas Sigel wonderfully shows Los Angeles not only as a background, but another character in the screenplay. Also, the music by Cliff Martinez, despite the stupid technicalities for not being eligible, is amazing as is Albert Brooks in a amazingly brutal departure from his usual narcissistic/egotistical comedy roles. For now, just enjoy this shot of my beautiful city.
